Holy Matrimony Share Brand New EP ‘Dearly Beloved (PART 1)’ Out 31st March 2017

“Someone needs to grab this band quick and sign them up as they have all the hallmarks of a future mega pop act” – Nigel Carr – Louder than War

“Music that is primarily electronic, interspersed with muted and somewhat grunge-like guitars and buoyed by clean, eloquent vocals singing a rousing verse about a confusing yet protective love.” – Music Vs The World

“Their Electro Pop seemed to be influenced in equal parts by the masters of the 80’s and present day artists. Whipping the crowd up to a frenzy and even getting in on the crowd action themselves.” – Danny Seal – Emerging North – Live review @ Gullivers

“’In A Dream Of You And I’ floats effortlessly on the steady percussion that backbones its hazy bed of electronics. A track both indebted to its influences, yet feels unequivocally contemporary. – Dave Beech – Scruff of the Neck Records – Muso’s Guide

Holy Matrimony “with all the hallmarks of a major pop act” (Louder Than War) conceive songs that expand into lush aural panoramas; colourful soundscapes spray-painted onto canvasses of brooding electronica.

Coming together in late 2015, from wildly different musical backgrounds, Roger Damen (Vocals/Synths), Jonny Adams (Guitar) and Jack Ellis (Bass) eschewed any self-conscious notion of what a band ‘should be’ and were born through a genuine passion and acceptance of their musical differences.

‘Dearly Beloved: Part One’ is the latest demonstration of Holy Matrimony’s meticulous attention to detail: written, recorded, produced and released in-house by the band themselves; a true ‘indie release’ that embraces a true flair for lush, unapologetic pop music that draws from a catalogue of disparate influences from across the pop spectrum.

Listen To The ‘Dearly Beloved: Part One’ Stream:

Recorded entirely in a Salford flat in the Autumn and Winter months of 2016, ‘Dearly Beloved: Part One’ comprises four tracks that collectively soar above their sunless origins. They burst into life with confident vocals and glossy production; layered in broad strokes and built entirely upon slick electronic rhythms.

The band though new have gone on to achieve great things by supporting notable acts within Liverpool/Manchester. An addition of backing from ‘Louder than War’ Magazine and ‘Scruff of the Neck Records’ have also allowed Holy Matrimony to build on their developing fanbase. Their ‘Dearly Beloved: Part One’ EP launch in Manchester taking set for the 31st of March as part of their first small UK tour also including Sheffield, Southport, Huddersfield, Blackpool, Liverpool and Blackburn dates marks a bright future for the group.

In an era of mass interchangeable music, Holy Matrimony stand out by merging generations of influences to produce a sounds unique as it is familiar.
