“The likes of Compare Scars and Love Is Not Control are instantly, insanely catchy, with feverish rhythms and call-and-response routines” – The Guardian
“The love child of INXS, The Maccabees and The National, with everything from charming ballads to big anthems” – Shortlist
To Kill A King return with a video to go with their powerful new single ‘The Problem Of Evil’. The video stars Poldark actress Ruby Bentall. Explaining how she became involved in the video, Ruby explains “I have never done a music video before and when Ralph sent me the song, I thought it was so brilliant and was really happy to get involved. He’s a family friend and I love the way he is so supportive of my sister who is a singer [Edith from FOURS]. Filming was great, a lot of me wandering around attempting to look moody and soulful!”.
After releasing two acclaimed albums, 2013’s ‘Cannibals With Cutlery’ and 2015’s self-titled follow-up ‘To Kill A King’, and touring incessantly since 2010, To Kill a King took a year off the road to concentrate on writing their third album. When not occupied with this, they’ve been working with other acts, singer Ralph Pelleymounter writing with the likes of Rag’n’ Bone Man and Zibra, keyboardist Ben producing acts like Childcare and Little White Things. The band say it’s been fantastic being able to take the time over this new set of songs, the first of which they are sharing is ‘The Problem Of Evil’.

“It’s a song about grief, anger, and the loss of faith,” says Pelleymounter of ‘The Problem Of Evil’. “It’s about prayers going unanswered. It’s about a person trying to reconcile an all-powerful God with the evil in this world, and now more than ever it seems an appropriate time to share it with people.”
Renowned for their passionate live performances, To Kill A King’s last UK headline tour in March 2015 culminated in a show at Shepherds Bush Empire, and the band were picked by Radio 1’s Huw Stephens to headline The Lake stage at Latitude last summer. Look out for news of live dates in 2017.
