Matthew and Me release new single ‘Figure’, taken from their new EP ‘Startpoint’, which comes out on 18th November via Beatnik Creative. Recorded between their home studio and Deep Litter, Startpoint, the EP was produced by Ben Howard and Eliza Shaddad collaborator Chris Bond.
Following on from “luscious, woozy..and remarkable” (Gold Flake Paint) first single and EP closer ‘Joy’, ‘Figure’ provides an energetic and electric counterpoint whilst retaining the group’s signature Sigur Ros and Mogwai inspired soundscapes.

Talking to Clash about the release Matt and Lucy said: “As a whole feels like a positive body of work which grew from a complicated time of change, cathartic and forward moving. I think the EP is nicely balanced, it has moments of joy, moments of light relief and moments of a more contemplative and introspective nature.”
In support of the EP’s release Matthew and Me will be playing a short tour in the autumn taking in their home town of Totnes, Brighton, Bristol and London.
This month, the band will be playing at Sea Change Festival in Totnes on the 27th.
