International Spring Tour Kicks Off This Weekend
“The scuzzy distortion on the guitars, the rolling drums, and Kino Kimono’s sharply angled vocals all smack of jittery dissatisfaction and 90s musical tropes.” – VICE’s Noisey
“[Caste Out] is blistering fun with loosely strummed guitar lines, quick rolling drum transitions and that melts into a slow churning, menacing trip, and ends on a bright guitar line. The switches happen at inopportune moments and keep the ear guessing through delightful abruptness.” – Stereogum
Kino Kimino is the brainchild of Kim Talon who plugged in with Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth to throw down the ten sweetly serrated, sometimes volatile, post-punk songs on debut album Bait Is for Sissies released June 3 on Wavves’ label Ghost Ramp. Previously receiving accolades from Pitchfork to FADER, today the band is excited to share Bait Is for Sissies streaming in full exclusively with VICE’s Noisey.
Kino Kimino recently played to a packed crowd in her current hometown of NYC. Fans across the globe will have their first chance to see the band live on an international tour which kicks off this weekend, hitting Chicago, Cincinnati and more, bringing it back to NYC on July 3.
