IS TROPICAL
Black Anything
The New Album
Recorded Across Five Continents, Released in Five Parts on 10” Vinyl
Third Installment – ‘FALL/LIGHTS’ ON 10″, OUT NOW VIA NYC BASED AXIS MUNDI RECORDS
Late last year, IS TROPICAL announced their third album ‘Black Anything‘ would be released in 5 parts, one for each continent it was recorded in.
Now following the release of Pt.1 titled ‘Crawl/On My Way’ and recorded in North America, and Pt.2 “Cruise Control/Say” recorded in Europe, IS TROPICAL have released Pt.3 “Fall/Lights On”, the African chapter via Axis Mundi.
The video for first track ‘Fall’ was made by the band. “Working from the title of the track ‘Fall’ our plan was to create a falling shot of Kirstie whilst she sang. The video was done for zero budget in a studio in North London, where we suspended Kirstie in the style of shibari, Japanese rope bondage.
We borrowed a mini DV camcorder, trying to get close to low budget African b-films, which after the shoot broke and destroyed all the footage. What you’ll see in the final promo is the scrambled leftover with little edits”
