The Guardian is teaming up with Classic Album Sundays, the world’s most popular listening experience and classic album hub, to present an exclusive series of immersive classic album listening events supported by Audio Note UK. For our first edition we will present the Mercury Prize-winning “The Hour of Bewilderbeast” and our special guest will be none other than Badly Drawn Boy himself.

It was June 2000 when the Mercury Prize-winning, seminal ‘The Hour of the Bewilderbeast’, announced the arrival of the badly drawn genius of Damon Gough. It’s been a curious wonderful, inimitable, unpredictable career so far of major prizes and minor incidents, all possibilities and magic in the air.

Classic Album Sundays founder Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy will discuss the featured record currently celebrating its 15th anniversary with the artist, Damon Gough, ensuring fans will gain a unique insider’s view of the making of one of their favourite classic albums.

Then we feature an uninterrupted full vinyl playback of the album on one of the world’s best hi-fi sound systems, courtesy of Audio Note UK. Listeners will hear the album in a way few ever get to, experiencing it closer to the artist’s original intention. The evening will conclude with a Q&A during which fans will have the opportunity to ask Damon the questions they have always wanted to ask. This Guardian series with Classic Album Sundays is sure to give music fans an unforgettable experience.
