‘The Blog That Celebrates Itself Records’ releases the debut ep “Último Adeus” from Brazilian
shoegaze band ‘Céus de Abril’
“Inspired by the famous song, April Skies, from the seminal Jesus & Mary Chain, the history of the trio, Céus de Abril began five years ago.
The band come from Parauapebas in Brazil and comprises of Wilson Alencar (guitars and vocals), Stefany Martins (synthesizer and vocals) and Renato Araujo (bass)
They have obvious connections and references to classic shoegaze bands such as MBV
and also the new generation of gazers, like Ringo Deathstarr
, Asalto Al Parque Zoo
, but also sport a peculiar characteristic as they compose their songs in Portuguese. They are generating nuances of different styles, bringing a subtle sound with powerful melodies and lyrics that refer to the enclosed universe of the band, all four tracks are written and composed by Wilson and Stefany.
On August 31, 2015 will be the release of the Céus de Abril’s debut EP, Último Adeus (Last Goodbyes). This will be released by the São Paulo label ‘The Blog That Celebrates Itself Records’, run by the hyperactive Renato Malizia. A union more than meant for each other, the shoegaze of Céus de Abril is in the “home” of Brazilian shoegaze.
