Estrella Oscura share second atmospheric track ‘Within Beyond’ from upcoming EP
The music ‘Estrella Oscura’ produces is purely instrumental, and best described as having shoegaze, dream-pop and drone influences with a lot of atmospheric elements. It makes you stop in your tracks and you find yourself listening very closely because of the many layers. The music takes you on an emotional journey and you find yourself wanting to hear more because of the clever construction within the tracks. It probably means and sounds different to each individual but the possibilities for the tracks are versatile as they seem perfect for TV and film.
Andy says about his music: “I wanted to create something that came the closest to what I was hearing in my head and heart, drawing as much on all of the musical influences I know and love, as well as having an emotional depth drawn from recent experience”.
There are only two tracks ‘Beyond Within’ and ‘Within Beyond’ so far, but there is a real creative surge behind ‘Estrella Oscura’ and an EP is already being planned. ‘Beyond Within’ has already been included on a compilation CD “Rock Back for Nepal Volume 2” to aid victims of the Nepal earthquake, which is currently being played by various internet radio stations.

For further insights into the man behind “Estrella Oscura”, he recently conducted an interview with The Blog That Celebrates Itself which can be found HERE
Surrey, England native and music enthusiast Andy Jefferys has been involved making music from a very early age, coming from an orchestral upbringing playing trombone, and has been part of the shoegaze community since its origins in the early 90s. He joined a band called ‘Be’ in about 1993. This band started in the Surrey area, and he provided much of the musical direction, with the band gaining a lot of local success and the ear of Fire Records, home to Spacemen 3. A possible record deal with this label was offered but unfortunately due to other commitments of the band members, sadly this never got off the ground and the band split soon after.
Andy played sporadically within the multi-guitar orchestras of composers Rhys Chatham and Glenn Branca, but the opportunity to record new material only came to fruition due to his ‘Be’ vocalist Annie Edlich getting back in touch in 2014. The pair decided to start another project called ‘The Speedwell Blue’, and although one track is available via Soundcloud HERE ,the project s is currently on hiatus due to personal commitments.
Gaining new enthusiasm through the ‘Speedwell Blue’ project, he decided to start his own project ‘Estrella Oscura’ (Spanish for “dark star”), to fulfil the new inspiration and to express himself on his own terms
The tracks can be streamed through Bandcamp and SoundCloud and a video for both of the tracks to follow.
