“IS EVERYTHING OK?” VIDEO WITH BLACK BOOK

“A spacey track with sticky percussion, robotic vocals, and an uplifting chorus that will get caught in your skull and refuse to leave. It sounds like something that might have come out of Daft Punk’s latest album.” – Black Book

“Felix Da Housecat is a true original in the dance music pantheon.” – NPR
““Is Everything Okay?”… It certainly will be when you crank up this track on a sunny day.” – Vanity Fair

NARRATIVE OF THEE BLAST ILLUSION
NEW ALBUM OUT JULY 10th ON NO SHAME

ALBUM PRE-ORDER AND SINGLE AVAILABLE ON ITUNES

Today Felix Da Housecat reveals the video for ‘Is Everything OK?’ via Black Book.

The stunning and surreal video explores societal prejudice towards unconventional relationships through the lens of forbidden love between a human woman and an extra terrestrial. It’s a perfect fit for the single’s futuristic Drive-inspired synth melancholia.

‘Is Everything OK’ is the debut single from Felix’s upcoming album Narrative Of Thee Blast Illusion out July 10th on No Shame (now available for pre-order).

This album isn’t necessarily meant for the clubs. Rather, we hear a more fine-tuned focus on melodic initiatives and lyrical content, sometimes exploring more melancholic soundscapes than what we’d expect from Felix. This evolution of sound is hardly accidental — the new work, which we dare call meditative and expressive, took the Chicago native and two-time Grammy nominee roughly three years to make,” says Black Book of the record.

In addition to the lead single, the 11-track collection runs the emotional gamut – featuring such standout tracks as dub-dripping reggae tune “The Natural” feat. Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, a cosmic-pop nod to Prince on the excellent ‘Devon’s Box’, an ode to carnal delights on‘Looking 4 A Reason’ all the way through to avant wistfulness on the stunning Codeine Cowboy’.

Narrative Of Thee Blast Illusion represents Felix in his element and at his most nuanced, showcasing an ever-evolving sonic palate while retaining the inimitable groove throughout.

His first release since 2011’s Son of AnalogNarrative sees the Chicago House legend (who has collaborated with everyone from Diddy to Nile Rodgers) return to the fore at the top of his game after more than three decades of making musical history with his most soulful and introspective record yet.

It’s all about moods,” explains Felix. “It’s me tapping into melodies. It has nothing to do with hands in the air, its about melody and lyrics.”

The album art – by renowned Techno Visual Artist, Abdul Qadim Haqq is the final piece of the album puzzle. It features three characters – NOSTALGIA, HEROINE and PARADOX.

This is not a club record. It’s a record for the dawn.
