Brooklyn electronic-pop trio WIN WIN has unveiled the stunning new video for “Been So Long”, from the band’s highly anticipated third album Primaries, out June 30 on Arts & Crafts. The video premiered exclusively on VICE, who describe it as “a bizarre computer-generated psychedelic dance wormhole.” Taking the kaleidoscopic palette of Primaries even further, WIN WIN created a video for its “effervescent, ebullient new single” (Brooklyn Vegan) that blends natural and artificial elements in 3D environments. “The song is about the online space and how virtual things can blur with reality when looking at screens all the time,” WIN WIN relates. “The video places 3D objects of real world things back ‘in world’, so to speak.”
The video follows the release of an enchanting left-field remix by DFA Records’ Larry Gus on Indie Shuffle, where the Greek producer turned the boisterous pop of the original into a vast expanse of glitch, world, groove, and house. Penned by WIN WIN with Jahphet Landis of TV On The Radio and vocalist Courtney Epton, “Been So Long” is the centrepiece of Primaries: an elastic and hyper-modern album of seductive pop permanence and psychoactive electronics.
