“Blitzen Trapper are finding their way back.”-Pitchfork
Vagrant Records is pleased to announce four vinyl releases exclusive to Record Store Day on April 18, 2015. All on 180g, Vagrant will be releasing The Hold Steady’s two classics Boys and Girls in America and Heaven Is Whenever, as well as Blitzen Trapper’s Live Harvest and Justin Townes Earle’s Live At Grimey’s.
Considered “America’s Best Bar Band” by many, The Hold Steady is one of Vagrant’s most legendary alumni. On April 18, Vagrant will be releasing limited edition versions of Boys and Girls on white and purple vinyl, and Heaven Is Whenever on orange vinyl.
One of Vagrant’s newest roster members, Blitzen Trapper, recently released their seventh studio album, VII. While on tour in support of the album, the band performed Neil Young’s Harvest in its entirety in Portland at the Doug Fir Lounge. The shows were recorded and will be released as Live Harvest, an RSD exclusive LP.
And last but certainly not least, the Forefather of Contemporary Americana, Justin Townes Earle recently released the double concept album, Single Mothers and Absent Fathers. While on tour in support, JTE did a special in-store performance at Grimey’s in Nashville on September 4, 2014. The show was recorded and will be put out as an LP and available only on Record Store Day.
